Read below to find out more about HealthPass at the Worksite.
HMSA offers
a full array of health and wellness programs through its Health Promotion and
Preventive Services subsidiary, designed to improve, enhance and maintain the
health of your employees. By making
programs available such as
HMSA's HealthPass
at the worksite, we can provide your
organization with valuable information that points to the company's most
prevalent health conditions, risk factors, and biometric indicators.
These findings can be used as a
baseline to launch additional wellness initiatives to the benefit of your bottom
line, as well as to address the issues surrounding rising health care costs.
Healthy living is one of the most important assets of any society.
When employees are continually sick,
chronically stressed, and sleep deprived, morale and worker productivity
decrease. As full-time employees
spend the majority of their day at work, it is sensible to incorporate healthy
living into an organization's culture. Motivation, stress management, and
quality sleep play vital roles in worker productivity. When employees are
empowered to take control of their own personal health, employers can benefit
from a happier, healthier, and productive workforce.
National
mortality statistics and related research reveal that about half of all deaths
that occurred in the year 2000 could be attributed to preventable behaviors,
including smoking, poor diet, physical inactivity, and alcohol consumption.
Reducing disease associated with behavioral and biometric risk factors is a
public health priority for the nation, as well as for employers and health plan
providers. We can accomplish this reduction by shifting the focus from treatment
(after the fact) to health promotion and prevention (e.g. screenings and early
detection).
Our goal is
to work closely with you, the employer, to create and support wellness
initiatives designed to impact a company's bottom line, while improving the
health and productivity of employees.
Employers have traditionally focused on containing health care costs by
concentrating on diseased populations.
That focus, however, is shifting.
Evidence shows that most dollars are saved by helping individuals reduce
risk factors, one at a time.
Employers that invest in programs to get and keep people healthy are seeing an
impact on both health and productivity.
HealthPass at the Worksite is a great
way to introduce or expand on your company's current wellness efforts. We will work closely with you to
deliver the tools that meet the needs of your workforce, such as early morning,
evening, or weekend health screenings.
We can deliver HealthPass state-wide, and are flexible in our delivery
models. Most importantly, we will
report on the current aggregate health status of your employees, and assist with
future wellness activity planning that will address the health and wellness
needs of your organization as a whole.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
All of this is available as a plan benefit at no additional cost for
HMSA members. HMSA members' spouses are welcome also, if space is
available. We will also provide the health screening service to
non-HMSA members, if requested, for a nominal fee, per person.
A minimum number of participants is required to bring HealthPass to the
worksite. Companies with 50 or more participants will receive an in-depth
aggregate report, which assesses the company's most prevalent health
conditions, risk factors and biometric indicators.
Contact us today or by phone at
432-9220 on Oahu or (800) 525-6548 from the Neighbor Islands. We'll be happy to show
you how to make the most of your HMSA health plan by inviting HealthPass to your worksite.
